Data deletion policy
Last updated May 12, 2026
You control your data on Unison. This page explains exactly how to remove it, what happens when you do, and how to reach us if you want help.
Delete your account
The fastest way to delete everything: open account settings, scroll to "Delete account", confirm, and your account is closed immediately. Within 30 days of deletion we permanently erase:
- Your profile (email, display name, avatar, hashed password).
- Every connected channel and its OAuth tokens, app passwords, or bot tokens. Tokens are revoked at the corresponding network where the network exposes a revocation endpoint.
- All drafts, scheduled posts, published-post records, and inbox messages stored in our database.
- All uploaded media held in our object storage.
Backup snapshots that contain your data are rotated out within a further 30 days, after which no copy remains in our infrastructure.
We retain billing records (invoices, charge IDs) for up to 7 years to comply with tax law. These records do not contain post content or channel credentials.
Disconnect a single channel
To remove only one connected network without closing your account:
- Open channel settings.
- Click the channel you want to remove.
- Choose "Disconnect".
Within 7 days we delete the channel's stored OAuth token, app password or bot token from our database. Posts already published to that network remain on the network itself; we do not control content stored outside Unison.
Delete a single post or draft
Open the post in the queue or drafts view and choose "Delete". This removes it from Unison immediately. If the post had already been published to a connected network, the published copy on that network is not affected; delete it on the network itself if you want it removed there as well.
Request deletion by email
If you cannot access your account, write to hello@unison.ink from the email address registered to the account. Include the email address and, if known, the account ID. We will verify your identity, action the request and confirm completion within 30 days.
Removing your Unison data from third-party networks
When a post is delivered to a third-party network, that network stores its own copy according to its own policies. Deleting the post in Unison does not delete the copy on the network. To remove that copy:
- X: open the post on x.com and delete it.
- LinkedIn: open the post on linkedin.com and delete it.
- Meta (Instagram, Facebook, Threads): open the post in the Meta app and delete it.
- TikTok: open the post in the TikTok app and delete it.
- YouTube: open the video in YouTube Studio and delete it.
- Pinterest: open the pin on pinterest.com and delete it.
- Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram: open the post in the respective app and delete it.
You can also revoke Unison's API access from each network's app permissions page at any time. Revoking access at the network does not by itself delete the channel record we hold; combine it with "Disconnect" inside Unison or an email request to hello@unison.ink to remove our copy as well.
